garage door installation cost?

How much does a new garage door installation cost?

A few different factors determine the cost of a garage door installation in Minnesota. These factors include the material the door is made of, the style of the door and the size of the door.

In terms of materials, the cheapest option for garage door installations tend to be aluminum and steel. Both of these popular, sturdy options tend to cost anywhere from $600 to $2,000. Premium garage door materials such as fiberglass, vinyl and faux wood are more expensive choices. Garage doors made of these materials are likely to cost a minimum of $1,000, and an installation may end up costing $4,000 or more on the high end.

The style of garage door that you have installed also has a substantial impact on cost. The traditional panel garage door design, which is common on most residential homes, tends to be the cheapest choice; expect to pay $300 to $800 for installation. Roll-up and tilt-up garage doors, which are more commonly found on commercial buildings, tend to be more expensive. Installation of these garage door styles costs $500 to $1,500 on average. Carriage garage doors are a premium style which are much more expensive. Carriage garage door installation costs at least $1,000 on the low end and may cost you up to $10,000 depending on the size of the door.

And of course, the size of a garage door will influence the cost of installation. Smaller garage doors, such as those for one-car garages, will be the cheapest, costing an average of $500 to $2,500. Two-car garage doors and similarly sized doors for commercial buildings have an average cost of $750 to $4,500. For the largest garage doors, such as those on three-car garages and larger commercial spaces, are going to be the most expensive; expect to spend $1,500 to $7,000 or more for installation.
